Help Needed For Creative Project!

OK! So, I am currently working on my third year creative project for the University of Northampton. My project is about creating seven scales from seven formulae that could potentially have sound characteristics associated to them. Once I have all seven scales (or modes, seeing as they are more closely related to modes than scales) I will compose each song in a way that represents these laws. What do I need from you guys? I would like recommendations or suggestions on different formulae that you think would be appropriate for this project. From all the available suggestions I will pick the seven that closely resemble my purpose! Please use the comments box attached to my blog to put forward your suggestion (along with what sound-characteristics are associated to it) or post a comment in response to my Facebook post. Many thanks to everyone that helps me with this!

As a token of my appreciation, every person that puts forward a suitable formula (it must have some kind of sound-associations with it) will get a copy of the finished project.

Home Recording: Adam Barry Unleashes Bass Power!

AnarKaos are currently recording a new home demo of their new song (yet to be named). Adam Barry has been in Northampton laying down his bass line. Here is what he had to say about the new track:

"The new song came from our first rehearsal as a full line up. It came together pretty easily to be honest. It is definitely a lot more bouncy and dancy than previous AnarKaos stuff. And for all those who have screamed 'Play Some Ska!' they won't be disappointed! Love Adam, hugs and kisses xxx"

All that is left to record on the new track are the vocal lines, so watch this space for a taster of the new song, which will hopefully be available on here for your enjoyment!

Review: AnarKaos, Emcoil, Shatter Your Illusions

Redemption: Hertford Corn Exchange

So last night was the return of AnarKaos, back in Hertford where we last played almost 6 years ago at the Hertford Marquee. We would like to say a big thanks to everyone that came out and showed their support last night and I would personally like to say a big thanks to Carl from Emcoil for allowing me to borrow his amplifier after mine decided to pack up earlier in the day. Our set list consisted of:

Shatter Your Illusions played an awesome show and although they had a few sound issues at the beginning, they blew the rest of us away with their music. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/shatteryourillusions2010

To finish the night we had Emcoil. Fantastic show, really got the crowd moving with their melodic clean effects and distorted hardcore sections with pulsating bass rhythms. Blended in with familiar vocals from Justin Brett (original vocalist of Twelve Point Head) and Sam Auty's accompanied screaming they deserved to be topping the show in Hertford! Announcement: ALC Facebook Page Created!

ALC have created a Facebook page which will host demo songs, share videos, gig information and much more. So if you haven't already, go check it out at http://www.facebook.com/pages/ALC-A-Lost-Conspiracy/229975413706308

The band are mostly influenced from metalcore acts such as Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, All That Remains among others with other influences such as Arch Enemy, Kalmah and In Flames coming into play. Currently ALC have been rather silent after losing two members, but since recruiting Matt Truman on drums (also drummer of AnarKaos) are now looking to find a guitarist and vocalist to continue with the crusade. Hi everyone!

Welcome to the first post of my new blog =). I start this blog with an announcement - AnarKaos are playing at the Hertford Corn Exchange for the first time in almost 6 years! Details of the event can be found above and I hope to see you all there where we will be sure to bring you all the old favourites!

With that out of the way, I would like to welcome you to my new blog. This blog aims to keep you all updated with the projects and bands I am in (such as AnarKaos, ALC, Sanity's Last Hope and Beyond the Sacrifice) as well as providing music, videos and hopefully other content for your enjoyment, not just for my own projects but for others too. If you have a music-related video for your band or project, I will add it to my channel. Plus any events that are upcoming please let me know and I will list them here.
